Continue reading ana white 4×4 farmhouse truss beam table → diy farmhouse table and bench using free plans from ana white i have wanted to build a farmhouse table since i first started building a couple of years ago. Simple pine wood 2×4, 2x6, 2x10, and 4x4 legs. This table is 72 inches long and sits 30 inches off the ground.
The table measures 70long x 31 1/4 wide. To connect the center 4x4 beam, you can prop it up at a height so that it aligns with the center in the side supports. Farmhouse truss table and benches.
I decided to use 2×6’s for the top and bottom to make it even more sturdy looking. For the record, these plans are based are ana white's original plans which you can find here. According to ana’s site and her fellow blogger’s site (shanty2chic) the ana white 4×4 farmhouse truss beam table would cost just over $100 in wood (i ended up using cedar instead of pine so the total cost of wood was $224.91).
Center and biscuit the 2x6 divider (3 1/2 piece) to the two (24) 4x4 legs. Screw the boards on the side that will face the ground. Here’s how it all started.
Basically, you want to allow about an eight of an inch for a joint side to expand/contract. Rip the four (36) 2x6 boards to 4 1/2 and glue two pieces together and secure with 2 1/2 wood screws.you should have two completed foot bases. The only modifications i made to ana's plans were to the overall size.i used an additional 2×10 to increase the width of the table.
The inner design is really neat as well with its trestle style bracing. I'm planning on taking the table apart and replacing it with another table that i'll build. You can use these plans to make a really beautiful farmhouse table.
